Hastings creative writing workshop schedule


​​The focus of my programme of activity as writer in residence at Hastings Library is organising creative workshops, partnering with local organisations to facilitate this.

Below is a list of public workshop dates and the organisations I'm working with. Although this blog post is dated January 17th, I'll continue to update it with new organisations and workshop dates as they are organised.

Creative writing public programme:

Please note: the creative writing workshops for adults and the one-to-one sessions are now fully booked.

Public workshops (now fully booked) Saturday 3 March (11.30am for ages 11–16, 2pm for adults) Saturday 17 March (11.30am for ages 11–16, 2pm for adults) Saturday 31 March (11.30am for ages 11–16, 2pm for adults) Book for a public workshop to:

  • experience the newly refurbished Hastings Library building

  • participate in exercises designed to generate creative ideas and develop your writing

  • meet other people with an interest in writing

One-to-one feedback sessions (now fully booked) Friday 2 March (various time slots)

Saturday 3 March (various time slots)

Saturday 17 March (various time slots)

Friday 23 March (various time slots)

Saturday 31 March (various time slots)

Feedback session participants benefit from:

  • Feedback and thoughts for development on a short story of up to 2,000 words or extract of the same length from a longer piece of writing (fiction / non-fiction),

  • or feedback and thoughts for development on a poem or series of poems (up to 150 lines of poetry).

  • Discussion around finding opportunities for your writing.

There are two groups, one for ages 7 to 9 (1pm to 2pm) and one for ages 10 to 14 (2.30pm to 3.30pm).

A creative writing workshop for the over 50s.

Ore Community Centre (Queen Bees Ladies Group)
